Our friends kept threatening to make us play Puerto Rico (wiki), but until last weekend it never happened. And now? Now it’s my new favorite board game. And I only kinda get it. I was told we haven’t even seen the whole thing, really. There are apparently other permutations. Lemme tell you, this one was complex enough for me. It’s strategic resource management-y, I guess. Luc and I decided it feels like Risk Meets Monopoly.
I went looking for info on the game and it seems like there are a ton of interesting board games out there. The ones that grab me have age ratings of 12+ — must be the top limit. Teenagers don’t play board games. Anyway, apparently this site is the place for board games. I was vaguely aware that there are adults who are into board games, but I didn’t realize just how big of a thang it is.
Now, to narrow it down to one…
